• Began as a rhythmic gymnast; selected into the Hunan Provincial Sports Bureau gymnastics team.
• 1979–1984: Studied dance at Hunan Art School while performing with the Hunan Song and Dance Ensemble; won Creation Second Prize and Performance Third Prize at China’s first National Dance Competition.
• BA in Rhythmic Gymnastics (Beijing Sport University); represented BSU (Performance Second Prize) and later served on faculty.
• 1991: First head coach of Singapore’s Rhythmic Gymnastics National Team after SG–CN diplomatic ties; choreographed National Day mass performances.
• 1993–2000: Dance instructor and performer with the Singapore Armed Forces Music & Drama Company.
• Extensive teaching across Singapore primary/secondary schools and junior colleges with strong SYF outcomes; frequent judge for national/international competitions; organizer/director/producer of major stage events.
